Te Ata seeks new members to join The Board of Trustees
April 12, 2019 at 12:56 PM
From Te Ata, posted on the Community Waitakere Noticeboard
The West Auckland Mental Health Trust (known as Te Ata) is a peer run centre providing social, recreational and educational support to people experiencing mental health issues. The centre is based in Henderson and is financed through charitable funds and a partnership with Waitemata DHB. We are currently seeking new members for our Board of Trustees.
If you have an interest in the mental health sector, can bring some skills and understanding to this position and are available for approx. 3 hours per month then we would love to hear from you. The role of board member involves attending monthly meetings and offering opinions and experience to help make financial and strategic decisions related to our mental health support centre. Personal experience of mental health issues and of acting in governance roles are highly valued in our board members. We meet in West Auckland at 4.30pm on the second Tuesday of each month.
We offer a small Koha for travel costs but this is predominantly a volunteer position that would give you great experience and will look fantastic on your CV.
Please email Daniel Sutton dsutton@aut.ac.nz or Sue Harvey on te-ata@xtra.co.nz for more information
