Date: 06-Nov-2017
Location: Auckland, NZ
Company: Ministry of Social Development
NGO Liaison (Fixed Term), Aukland
Partnering for Outcomes, Ministry for Vulnerable Children Oranga Tamariki
Auckland Regional Office, Auckland
12 months, Full Time
The NGO Liaison position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with and support providers and communities at a regional and local level to improve responses to family harm incidents. The role will adhere to the Whāngaia Ngā Pā Harakeke model – a whole of system way of working together to address Police reported family harm incidents. The model brings together information from across a range of sectors to triage referrals so they get the most appropriate intervention.
You will be supporting the NGO sector by providing awareness and knowledge about the Whāngaia Ngā Pā Harakeke process as well as identifying and reporting on gaps in current service provision, offering potential solutions, and facilitate information sharing between NGO’s as well as identify possible improvements to the Model.
Your excellent communication skills will enable you to engage with stakeholders and build strong relationships. Important to this role is the ability to work in a collaborative and innovative way in cross-agency settings. Knowledge of the family violence / family harm sector and appropriate interventions would be helpful.
You may come from a background working in the social/health/education sectors either as a public servant or in an NGO setting. In addition, you will need a tertiary qualification, an ability to work with ambiguity and an ability to move quickly in a dynamic environment. A working knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the implications of these for the work of MVCOT are important.
If this sounds like you, we would like to hear from you.
