Family Planning is offering free half-day courses that focus on utilising Navigating the Journey: Sexuality Education Te takahi i te ara: Whakaakoranga hōkakatanga.
Using Navigating the Journey (Yrs 1-4)
Navigating the journey: Sexuality education Te takahi i te ara: Whakaakoranga hōkakatanga is a relationship and sexuality education resource developed for teachers of students in years 1-2 & 3-4 in Aotearoa New Zealand.
This resource provides curriculum aligned learning activities, supplementary teaching materials, extension and alternate year activities.
Learning opportunities are explored within five themes:
- Establishing a positive learning environment: Te whakarite i tētahi ao ako huapai
- Who am I? Ko wai au?
- Relationships: Ngā whanaungatanga
- Growing and changing: Te tipu me te huri o te tangata
- Staying safe: Te noho haumaru
The course is being run on the following dates:
West Auckland 21st May
South Auckland 31st May
East Auckland 28th May
